OUR AID RECIPIENTS POLICE DEPARTMENTS
A POLICE DEPARTMENT
UNCUFF THE INNOCENT provided funds in 2018 to Oklahoma's Enid Police Department, which needed financial aid to purchase and maintain body cameras for its officers.
We are glad our contribution is helping the agency provide its officers with body-worn cameras that will protect both police officers and the public from false allegations. More than 50,000 residents in the area rely on this police department for safety.
The Enid Police Department’s body camera system, as reported in the Enid News & Eagle, went live in October 2018 “with 28 new body cams for its officers and a network built to save thousands of hours of video” thanks to donations made to the department’s body camera fundraiser, and following an eight-month test period during which “seven to 10 officers were cleared of complaints because of what each officers' camera recorded.”
"I just want to thank everybody that supported this program over the past 28 months," said Capt. Bryan Skaggs. "Because, this would have never have happened if it wasn't for their donations and their support."
UNCUFF THE INNOCENT is giving funds to body camera programs in honor of Oklahoma City Police Officer Daniel Holtzclaw, who was provided with neither a dash cam nor a body-worn camera that would have protected Daniel from wrongful conviction.
As we contribute to the body camera programs of more U.S. law enforcement agencies in need of funds, we will add state maps to represent the states where residents are being protected due to your donations to UNCUFF THE INNOCENT.
